We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Cookies

As a general rule The Business Octopus website does not place any intrusive cookies onto your computer or mobile device.

The main cookies we do use are required for our analytics software, they collect information about every customers browsing experience when on our website and the results are used to develop and improve it. They do not collect personally identifiable information or track your movements between different websites.

These cookies will usually appear as one of the following with an expiry date between the end of the session and around 2 years from the current date:

Opting out

If you do not wish to consent to this you may opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Please note that you will need to do this on each device and browser you use to fully opt-out of tracking cookies.

We also use a few other non-intrusive cookies, one of these is used to help increase the speed of the site for you by caching the frequently used sections, this will appear as ‘w3tc_referrer’. The others are session based and will appear as ‘PHPSESSIONID’, we use these to present a different phone number depending on where you found our site to help us track how successful our marketing campaigns are. All of these cookies are deleted at the end of your browsing session.

We will not begin using any other cookies on the site without first asking for our customer’s consent.

Third Party Cookies

When you use one of the social sharing buttons on our website (e.g. for Twitter or LinkedIn) a cookie may be set by the service you have chosen to share content through. The Business Octopus does not control the dissemination of these cookies but they can be blocked from your device by amending your browser settings.
